Booze by Design - Domain de Pajot Les Quatre Cépages
It is surprisingly hard to figure out who designed the labels of foreign wines. I've been wanting to show off a wine label for a while, but part of these posts, I want to talk about the designer as well as the beverage. I've decided I will still feature some of these wines, and just talk about the design in general.
I love the estate illustration and the combination of an all caps sans-serif with the script typeface showing the 4 grape varietals. The colors are simple as well, the white and dark grey pair perfectly with the green bottle.
The taste of the wine is crisp, yet well rounded. The balance is perfect, it's dry but not overpowering. A slight touch a sweetness follows every sip. Would pair nicely with a good pasta dish, such as this green puttanesca.
Side note. One of my new favorite apps is called Delectable. It allows you to take photos of wine labels, save them to a wish list and rate them. The app is also a great wine social media platform. You can follow friends or pros and see what they are drinking. Love it.
