Booze by Design - Austin Beerworks Peacemaker

Austin Beerworks Peacemaker

I choose the Peacemaker as my first Austin Beerworks beer to try as I like the white can color combined with the color of their logo. Their identity is bold and the white feels just right with those color combinations. For each of their Core Four the beers cans have a different color to go along with the style. Austin Beerworks has an excellent website which describes information about their beers in detail and beautiful graphics.

The Peacemaker is an Anytime Ale. The taste is light but still has subtle ale flavor notes. The low IBU leads to a mellow flavor profile. This beer is smooth and enjoyable. Sort of a step up from your run of the mill lager, but it's an ale.

The can design and all of their branding and website was done by the Austin studio Helms Workshop. Their logo is simple but featuring the lone star of Texas, and it's not overrun with clichés.

P.S. Besides awesome beer and branding, I'm loving Austin Beerworks because they make a Wet (or Fresh) Hop IPA. This is something that can usually only be found in regions where hops are grown. Texas is not the ideal climate for growing hops, so they have have them shipped overnight from Oregon
